New Online Invoice Payment Options for your Customers

Online invoices were created to make it easier for your customers to close their open invoices by paying directly online. We understand that Credit Cards are not always universal, and that’s why we have added new payment options to help streamline this process. Chargify now provides three new payment options for online invoices: Direct Debit, Apple Pay, and Paypal!

You can enable these payment methods on your Payment Gateway settings. In addition, you can also get in touch with your Customer Success Manager or Chargify Support team to help enable this in your account. For more information on our new online invoice payment options, see our documentation here>

New UNIPaaS Integration

Chargify has partnered with UNIPaaS to bring our merchants a unique gateway catered to Marketplaces & Digital Platforms. This new integration provides streamlined onboarding, global processing, and dynamic payout solutions to our merchants.

Dynamic payouts are an exciting feature that is in high demand, now more than ever. Receive funds within minutes of clearing, rather than working to conventional banking timescales. Dynamically schedule funds and keep your customers happy.

Additionally, when you connect to UNIPaaS you are provided a Merchant Portal with real-time monitoring to more effectively manage transactions, financial reporting, and gain insights on users and statistics.

Contact your Customer Success Manager or Chargify Support to enable this new gateway. For more information on our UNIPaaS integration, see our documentation here>

Subscription Groups in Salesforce

Our latest Salesforce integration (v3) is continually being enhanced to parody the functionality in Chargify that is used by your sales & support teams, preventing them to swivel between two systems to serve your customers' needs. The latest update to our Salesforce integration now utilizes Chargify’s Subscription Groups. When creating a subscription you can now select if the subscription should be billed individually or in a consolidated invoice with other subscriptions.

For more information on our latest integration with Salesforce, see our documentation here>

Create One-Off Invoice via the API

We are excited to continually provide you new API endpoints that surface our core functionality outside of our UI, allowing for full flexibility of how you bill your customers. Our latest API endpoint is creating ad-hoc invoices for one-off services or products, separate from your recurring charges. With these one-off invoices you can directly feed in everything that will be charged including the price, description and item being sold and you can set these invoices to be paid either by remittance or automatic payment collections.  They can have multiple line items, a custom memo, and all other basic attributes you get when you create the one-time invoice in the UI.

For more information on how to create a one-off invoice via the API, see our documentation here>

Australia and New Zealand Invoice Options Added

As your business expands to new regions, it is important that you adapt your invoicing to local standards. We are excited to announce that for our merchants who bill with the New Zealand (NZ) Goods and Services Tax (GST), now have the option to display the NZD equivalent of the NZ GST on all invoices.

Subscription Migration Preview Available via the API

As customers upgrade or change their subscriptions with you, providing a preview of their updated charges is a great way to mitigate surprises and keep customers happy! Chargify's latest API enhancement enables you to do just that. The 'Preview Migration' API call allows you to pull the prorated new charge amount based on a specified date (within the current billing period). Simply pass in the future date and get the corresponding prorated adjustment, charge, payment and credit applied values.

For more information on product migrations via the API, see our API documentation here>

Subscription Preview in Salesforce

Sales processes often involve multiple rounds of back and forth with customers before agreeing on a final set of products, services, and prices. To make this process as quick and simple as possible for your prospect and sales team, the Chargify to Salesforce integration offers Subscription Previews.

The subscription preview serves as just that - a preview of what is being purchased. This preview can act like a quote and be sent to your prospect or customer so they can directly see the products and services, quantities and prices being discussed. This preview can be updated as many times as needed as you move through negotiations. Once the opportunity is Closed Won in Salesforce, the subscription is automatically created in Chargify.

Events-Based Billing Pricing Tier Details On Invoices

Customers subscribing to plans with Events-Based Billing components can now see the details for each pricing tier on invoices. This enhancement gives your customers more granular information about how the final charges were calculated for each of the Events-Based Billing components on invoices. Below are the details included for each tier as an addendum on each invoice:
  • Quantity
  • Unit Price
  • Total Charges

Gain Predictable Recurring Revenue with Prepaid Subscriptions

You can now provide your customers with a new subscription type: Prepaid. Our latest core functionality allows you to create prepaid usage-based billing models providing a safety net for your recurring, predictable revenue. This new subscription type works with either metered or events-based components, giving you full flexibility on how you want to charge and how your customers want to use and pay for your product or service. Your customers can gain peace of mind with a true value-based pricing model where they pay in advance for usage they will decrement against as they use your product or service.

With real-time visibility, both you and your customers benefit from always knowing the exact state of funded balances and usage against those balances. In addition, auto-replenishment is an option so that your customers can decide when to re-up their balance after hitting a specifically defined threshold, that is set at the customer level, not the product level. This added level of customization provides you the ability to provide a white-glove service approach to your customers.

Prepaid Subscriptions also come with sophisticated notification workflows that can keep all or some of your customers in the know of where they stand with their prepaid usage. Customers always know what usage they have paid for with invoices generated at the end of each renewal period.

Setting CAPTCHA as Default on Public Sign-up Pages

Chargify has made a change to the settings for Public Signup Pages (PSP) for increased security and reduced risk of fraud. CAPTCHA is now set by default for all newly enabled PSPs. This change does not apply to previously created sign up pages. CAPTCHA is used to prevent automated bots from conducting fraudulent activity by authenticating that the site user is a person.  Enabling CAPTCHA on your sign-up pages creates a more secure experience for your customers.
