Improvements to Product Catalog Navigation

Our Product Team has made some exciting new changes to Chargify's User Interface (UI) after collecting some feedback from our customer base! Although these changes are minor, the enhancements we made to the Product Catalog layout will look different than what you have been used to.

We have now added pagination to the top of the Product Catalog to make it easier for you to navigate your product catalog across multiple pages, allowing you to scroll to the right page in your catalog. We have also added a 'Back' link to the Product, Component, and Coupon Details views such that after working with a particular product item, you are taken back to the same page in the catalog.

This will make it easier to make several edits to products, components, and coupons in the same product family. For more information on managing products in Chargify, see our documentation here>

Salesforce: Calendar Billing

The way you bill your customers is essential to running your business. Many of our customers today take advantage of Chargify's built-in Calendar Billing functionality, allowing them to choose the specific day of the month their subscribers should be billed on, not the day they signed up for your product and/or service. For example, you may want all of your customers' subscriptions to renew on the first of the month.

The goal with our CRM integrations is to mirror your Chargify environment as much as possible to provide your teams a seamless experience to sell and manage subscriptions. Because of this, we are excited to announce that we have extended Calendar Billing to our native Salesforce integration. When creating a Subscription via the Subscription Wizard, you can configure the subscription to be Calendar Billed on the specific day of the month you choose.

Bluesnap: 3DS Now Available

We understand you require a winning combination of enterprise-grade security to protect your customers and proven reliability to keep your recurring billing running smoothly. Because of this, we are very excited to announce the latest development in 3DS 2 with our Bluesnap integration!

3‑D Secure (3DS) is an advanced authentication solution implemented to reduce eCommerce fraud by verifying a cardholder’s identity in real time. Each of the major card brands has a 3‑D Secure offering. This will allow for a more seamless integration with merchants’ e-commerce customer experiences.

Applying Recurring Coupons to Mid-Period Allocations

Providing enticing offers and discounts to your customers can help build long-term relationships for your business. We are excited to launch new functionality around coupons and discounting that increases flexibility in how you manage your coupons, discounts, and promotions with Chargify!

You now have the option of whether recurring coupons should apply to mid-period invoices when an allocation changes for the following components:

  • On/Off Components
  • Quantity-Based Components

Previously, these "mid-period allocations" would automatically apply any recurring coupons. Merchants who use recurring flat dollar amount coupons will find this feature useful since they typically will not want the coupon to be applied more than a certain number of uses. Further, for use cases that are less common, merchants will also be able to have their percentage-based recurring coupons not apply to mid-period allocations.

For more information on applying recurring coupons, see our documentation here>

HubSpot: Multi-Currency Support

We launched our HubSpot integration (beta) a few weeks ago, creating a seamless experience for your customer-facing teams to manage prospects, create deals from your Chargify product catalog, and automatically activate new subscriptions. Today we are excited to announce support for multiple currencies in each HubSpot account.

When configuring your HubSpot account, you can now enable any HubSpot supported currency, mirroring your Chargify setup. Once configured each deal is configurable with any of the enabled currencies and currency conversion is handled per the configuration settings in Chargify. If you are interested in this integration, please email us at support@chargify.com or contact your Chargify Customer Success Manager.

Salesforce: Creating and Downgrading Opportunities

Having a variety of flexible options when configuring your settings for your Salesforce integration is great and what's even better is being able to choose which ones you turn on/off. Because of this we are excited to announce our latest enhancement to the Salesforce integration, allowing you to enable an "Upgrade/Downgrade Oppty Amount Difference".

Understanding not all of our customers manage their sales process the same, this new configuration setting will calculate the values on the opportunity based off the value of the original subscription to what it will be now (via upgrading or downgrading the subscription). There are 3 types of proration that will be available when upgrading/downgrading a subscription on an opportunity:

  • If “Preserve Period” is selected,  the normal next billing date will be respected;
  • If “Include Trial” is selected, the new products trial will be included on the subscription;
  • If “Include Initial” is selected, the setup fee will be included at the time of Upgrade/Downgrade

Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Direct Debit Now Available with Stripe Integration

Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Direct Debit is now available on Chargify’s integration with Stripe!

Direct Debit is a commonly used payment method in Europe and many businesses are seeing great success when implementing this payment method for subscriptions and business invoices. Adding an additional payment method adds flexibility to your customers.

Once you are ready, SEPA will allow you to take payment for your subscriptions in three easy steps:

  1. Customer selects SEPA Direct Debit at checkout
  2. Customer provides full name, IBAN, and authorizes mandate
  3. Customer gets notification that the payment is complete

Contact your Customer Success Manager or Chargify Support to enable this new payment method. You must have an active account to accept SEPA direct debit with Stripe.

For more information on SEPA with Stripe, see our documentation here>

Links Available to Individual Segments on Consolidated Invoice

Many of our customers use consolidated invoices to simplify their customers’ bills when they have multiple subscriptions. The beauty of these consolidated invoices is that each subscription listed in the group generates an “invoice segment”. Previously, you had to go through a couple of steps to locate the individual segments that make up a consolidated invoice.

Our UI now allows you to locate the individual segments on a consolidated invoice by directly linking to the member invoice for easy access. For example, if you have a customer with 10 subscriptions, the consolidated invoice would group this into 1. You are able to click into the “1 grouped subscription” to see the member invoices associated.

HubSpot Integration Available in Beta

We are excited to announce that our nextgen Hubspot integration is now in beta! Integrating Chargify and Hubspot seamlessly connects your CRM and subscription billing operations to streamline your revenue generation processes.

The integration synchronizes date bi-directionally, so your catalog, customer, subscriptions, and deal management records are always in sync. Users are able to use Hubspot as they do today with the added benefit of automatically creating subscriptions in Chargify. The line items for building deals in Hubspot are synchronized from the Chargify product catalog for easy use in deals, quotes, and winning new customers.

If you are interested in the integration, please email us at support@chargify.com or contact your Chargify Customer Success Manager.

Enhanced UI for Customer and Organization Field Displays

Having options for detailing your customer records enables you to align the information in Chargify with how you manage your business. We know from our own customers, that some manage their business relationships on an individual contact level, while others manage via the organization level.

Chargify now differentiates your customers as an organization or an individual contact. If you have populated the organization field for any customer, this information is now prominently displayed in many locations, including:
  • Subscription Index
  • Subscription Record
  • Customer Index
  • Customer Record
If you do not use the Organization field in Chargify, the contact on the customer record will continue to be displayed. For more information on these changes, see our documentation here>
