Proforma Triggers

Proforma invoices allows for proactive communication to your customers by providing a preview of their upcoming expected billing amounts, taking away any surprises once their subscription renews. Thanks to feedback from our existing customers taking advantage of proforma invoices, we have added some exciting functionality by announcing new proforma invoice triggers!

These triggers will allow for a proforma invoice to automatically be generated on set intervals of a subscription billing cycle. These triggers will allow you to select if you want the proforma invoice automatically sent to your customer at generation. For your annual subscribers, this will provide insight into what their invoice will look like 2, 4, 6 months (or whatever time interval you choose) out from their renewal.

For more information on proforma triggers, see our documentation here>

Proforma Invoices for Subscription Groups

Proforma invoices are an easy way to provide your customers with a preview of the upcoming charges and/or renewal of their subscription(s). After receiving valuable feedback from our users of proforma, we are happy to announce the extension of this functionality to Subscription Groups.

You can now view and generate a proforma invoice prior to a group's next billing period, keeping you and the customer up-to-date on all of their consolidated subscriptions. If changes need to be made, just make the adjustments to the subscription and regenerate the proforma invoice with the new pricing.

HubSpot: New Subscription Details Link & Enhancements to Coupons and Setup Fees

Since the launch of our native HubSpot integration earlier this year, our beta users have provided valuable feedback leading to several updates over the past few weeks. Our latest enhancements are around Subscription record details and redesigning Coupon and Setup fees.

You are now able to view Subscription Details in HubSpot and link from the Subscription details to the Subscription UI in Chargify from any Subscription record. In addition, Coupons and Setup Fees have also been redesigned, allowing for a more seamless workflow with HubSpot Quotes. Chargify custom fields are now selectable on HubSpot Deals and Contracts.

We look forward to continuing to evolve our native integration to meet your business needs. If you are interested in this integration, please email us at support@chargify.com or contact your Chargify Customer Success Manager.

Subscription Group Enhancements

Simplifying your customers billing is a necessary step in providing a delightful experience with your product. At Chargify, we love knowing our Subscriptions Group functionality provides an easy way to bill your customers when they have multiple subscriptions by consolidating invoices. We are excited to share a few enhancements to Subscription Groups, all thanks to the valuable feedback we have received from our customers!

Chargify users will now be able to manage service credits and prepayments on the subscription group level, instead of the individual level. Additionally, users can now update the group payers payment profile and cancel an entire subscription group with one action. We hope this will save you time and energy in managing your customers' multiple subscriptions.

Salesforce: Lead Generated from Trial Subscriptions

Your success as a company is heavily dependent on a strong and effective sales pipeline. Managing and capturing the most up-to-date information on your trialing subscribers can become difficult, oftentimes leading to misplaced or duplicated contact and account information. To help prevent these hiccups for your sales organization, we are excited to announce our latest enhancement to our Salesforce integration!

Your trialing subscription data from Chargify can seamlessly integrate with your Salesforce environment, allowing for your trial subscriptions to create or match to an existing lead in Salesforce. This will give your sales team the most up-to-date information on their prospects and existing customers currently on a trial subscription.

Your sales team will quickly see new customer signups that have not converted to an active subscription. Additionally, once the Chargify subscription moves to an active state, the Salesforce lead will automatically convert to an Account/Contact record. This parody of information between Chargify and Salesforce can save dozens of hours for your team by eliminating manual data entry and the extra communication needed to keep everyone up to date on those customers in the pipeline.

Chargify's Salesforce Quoting

Giving your customers a seamless buying experience starts with your sales team having the right tools at their disposal, especially in a system they’re so natively used to: Salesforce. As we continue to make enhancements to our Salesforce integration, we are excited to announce that we have added the ability to create quotes with versioning inside a subscription preview.

This will allow for your team to negotiate pricing with your customers. In addition, Manager and Customer approval settings are also available to allow no interruption to your existing workflows.

New Default Payment Profiles

Maintaining great relationships with your end customers oftentimes starts out with the way you bill them. By utilizing online and public invoices through Chargify, you can provide a seamless experience for your end customer to pay you. As many of you already take advantage of this feature, your customers can access their invoice online from an automated email or from your team by copying the link from the Chargify interface under "More Options" when viewing the invoice.

We are excited to announce a new feature to the UI of these public invoices! Your customers now have the option to save their Credit Card by making it their default payment moving forward. This will prevent your customer from providing their credit card information the next time they pay their invoice, by selecting the one that is already on file.

Salesforce: Populate Custom Fields in Subscription Wizard

Over the past several weeks we have made several enhancements to our native Salesforce integration thanks to feedback from our customers! As many of you have seen, we added the ability to activate all subscriptions on an opportunity record, upgrade/downgrade subscriptions via opportunities, and also extended Calendar Billing from Chargify into Salesforce allowing for the utmost flexibility in the way you manage and sell your subscriptions.

Today we are excited to announce a new development with our integration by adding in custom fields to the Subscription Wizard. When creating a new subscription, you can update and/or edit your custom fields to provide additional data that is vital to your business and beneficial for your end customer to see. These custom fields provide an extra layer of information, beyond what is already provided in your product catalog.

Salesforce: Calendar Billing

The way you bill your customers is essential to running your business. Many of our customers today take advantage of Chargify's built-in Calendar Billing functionality, allowing them to choose the specific day of the month their subscribers should be billed on, not the day they signed up for your product and/or service. For example, you may want all of your customers' subscriptions to renew on the first of the month.

The goal with our CRM integrations is to mirror your Chargify environment as much as possible to provide your teams a seamless experience to sell and manage subscriptions. Because of this, we are excited to announce that we have extended Calendar Billing to our native Salesforce integration. When creating a Subscription via the Subscription Wizard, you can configure the subscription to be Calendar Billed on the specific day of the month you choose.

For more information on how Calendar Billing works, see our documentation here>

Importing of Cancelled Subscriptions

Having the continuity with your historical data for your customers in a single system makes your life easier by providing "the big picture" on your subscriber base. Because of this, we are excited to announce that we have hit another milestone on our product roadmap to import your historical data into Chargify.

You now have the ability to import cancelled subscriptions. Importing cancelled subscriptions can be done either through the UI with a CSV or via the API. Once imported, you will be able to see all of the historic cancelled subscriptions on the Subscriptions Page (Billing > Subscriptions)

For more information on the minimum requirements for creating cancelled subscriptions, see our documentation here>
